Saturday, July 22, 2017 (Gates open at 5:00PM. First race 7:15PM) The incredible Corntastic Weekend at the Meadowlands Racetrack is providing your family with free ears of grilled Jersey-fresh corn. Your family can also sign up at the Promotions Table for the Corn Carrying Contest and Corn Husking Contest.

Saturday July 22 Catch the opening of the brand new Jim Henson Exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens.  300 objects on view in the exhibit include 47 puppets—including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Rowlf, The Swedish Chef, Statler, Waldorf, Big Bird, Elmo, Cantus Fraggle, a Skeksis, and other popular favorites. At 2:00 pm catch The Muppet Movie– free with admission to the museum.

Saturday and Sunday July 22 + 23 Attention all crafty types! The International Bead Expo is at the NJ Convention Center in Edison and features 23 exotic and unusual bead and jewelry making supply vendors. Admission is $4 and there is a coupon here for $1 off.

Saturday and Sunday July 22 + 23 Smorgasberg comes to Jersey City at the LutzeEats pop-up food-garden beginning this Saturday. The beautiful waterfront outdoor space is adjacent to the Harborside Waterfront Boardwalk . Enjoy more than a dozen food vendors serving Indian, Korean and Phillipino delicacies as well as seafood, empanadas and waffle ice cream sandwiches. You can even bring your well-behaved 4-legged friends!

Saturday and Sunday July 22 + 23 (click on the link for movie times for both 2D and 3D versions) Have a Whale of a time at the Museum of Natural History and catch the 3D version of Humpback Whales a new film that captures the majesty of the largest creatures on Earth for their large screen theater.
