Saturday June 23 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM Bayside Park Family Fun Day in Jersey City offers day of play for the entire family! Food, Music, Frisbee Toss, Fishing, Bean Bag Toss, Ring Toss, Basketball Clinic, Badminton, Chess, Baseball, Chalk Art and Potato Sack Races. FREE

Saturday June 23 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM Paddle on over to the Hoboken Cove Community Boat House (Hoboken, NJ)  for free kayaking and stand-up paddling, outrigger canoe and more. Children under 16 must paddle with an adult. FREE

Saturday June 23 6:30 PM -10:30 PM Head over to the Chester Volunteer Fire Department Carnival  (Chester, NJ) You’ll enjoy amusement rides for kids big and small and pay-one price or individual tickets are available. Ride real fire truck rides are run directly by the fire company. There will be live music and a beer tent for adults.

Saturday and Sunday June 23 + 24 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Governors Island, NY) Governors Island explodes with outside-the-box creativity at the annual FIGMENT festival . Family highlights include interactive art projects and kids’ activities as well as a custom-made treehouse and artist-designed minigolf course. FREE

Saturday and Sunday June 23 + 24  9:30 AM- 11:30 AM Discover the magic of Broadway productions like ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Aladdin’ with a behind-the-scenes tour of Disney’s landmark New Amsterdam Theatre, provided by an established independent NYC tour operator. Led by the in-house historian, this hands-on tour gives you an exclusive look at incredible costumes and props used on stage. You’ll also enjoy a 1.5-hour guided walking tour of Broadway before visiting the theater. Stop outside prominent theaters and other hotspots to learn about the actors, shows and scandals that have rocked New York’s Theatre District. Saturday and Sunday June 23 + 24 (hours below)  State Fair Meadowlands  (East Rutherford, NJ) returns this weekend with more than 150 rides and attractions plus plenty of free entertainment on two stages. A death-defying high dive act returns by popular demand, as do the racing pigs. The fair, which features the largest Kiddieland in New Jersey as well as thrilling white-knuckle rides for older children and adults, will offer more than 50 food vendors, live animal shows, daring acrobats, magicians, a hypnotist, games, shopping and comfort stations for fairgoers.  

State Fair Meadowlands is the largest fair in the New York metro area, with more than 35 acres of fairgrounds. Dazzling fireworks shows will take place July 3 and 4 starting at 10:45pm

Sunday June 24th 11:00 AM- 6:00 PM Get tinkering at MakerFest2018 (Totowa, NJ ) is a family event that brings awareness of the Maker Movement in a fun and creative setting. Attendees can expect an amazing carnival meets makerfaire experience, where they can participate in various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) related activities including a dinosaur dig, a magician, blacksmith demo, and much more. The event will also feature various food & drink vendors, making this a perfect event for the entire family. All proceeds from MakerFest 2018 will go to 3 NJ nonprofits – Maker Depot Academy, Children In Unity & Backpacks For Life.

Sunday June 24th 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM Fly to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum (Morris Township, NJ) and celebrate the 11th Annual Fairy Day Welcome the wee folks into the garden by designing and creating a magical, miniature garden home made from all natural materials. Enjoy delicious treats and live music, and create a fairy themed craft to take home. At 3 p.m., join a colorful, musical procession around the gardens to marvel at the finished projects.
