Saturday April 21st 10:00 AM-4:00 PM (Jersey City) Celebrate Earth Day in Jersey City’s glorious backyard- Liberty State Park. Kick-off Earth Day at 10:00 am and get your heartrate going at the Annual Earth Day 5K Run/Walk. The race promises a flat and fast USATF-NJ Certified route through Liberty State Park and has become one of the region’s fastest growing Spring 5Ks. All registrants will receive a race t-shirt as well as post-race refreshments. Saturday April 21st 11:00 AM-12:00 PM (Jersey City) A new session of STORYBOOKS TO STAGE is starting at Hudson County Community College. In each 60 minute workshop, children bring stories to life, through creative movement, acting and song. The children will develop their creativity and artistic skills by making puppets or crafts that pertain to the story for their performance. Appropriate for ages 3-6. Classes $12-$60.

To kickstart summer, The High Line will offer exciting music, art, poetry performances, horticulture and hands-on projects for visitors to enjoy. Culture Shock for Families offers a bazaar, a jam session with Michael & The Rockness Monsters, among other activities. The event is FREE, but you’ll need to register.  Appropriate for all ages.

From early-morning yoga in the Cullman Hall of the Universe to performances that include John Luther Adams’ Become Ocean by Chelsea Symphony Orchestra and “The Umbrella Project” by Pilobolus in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, visitors can enjoy a Museum-wide festival of art, science, and culture in honor of Earth Day.
