In our opinion, this is the perfect time of year to visit The Cloisters.
Spring is coming, the display of bulbs in the next two weeks will be breathtaking and the view of the Hudson River is wonderful.

For those of you who have not visited, The Cloisters is at the Northern tip of Manhattan. You can drive, take the bus — which stops outside — or the subway to get there.
Reconstructed in the 1930s, it incorporates parts from five French cloistered abbeys, it used to exhibit art and architecture from Medieval Europe and has a lovely medieval garden.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. donated most of his medieval collection to the Museum and the unicorn tapestries are magnificent.
We went last weekend, our girls are currently into the series of Percy Jackson books regarding Greek gods and half human creatures so they loved the carvings and mystical stories about unicorns.
The day was completed with a fabulous brunch at the New Leaf Restaurant and Bar which is in the gardens of The Cloisters. Definitely worth the trip!
