After watch­ing Mac ride over the fin­ish line on his week-​long ride to raise money for AIDS LifeCycle, one of the high­lights of our sum­mer was vis­it­ing the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
What an experience!

The Getty Center in Los Angeles presents the Getty’s col­lec­tion of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present against a back­drop of dra­matic archi­tec­ture, tran­quil gar­dens, and gor­geous views. The garage is at the bot­tom of the hill and a train takes you on a breath­tak­ing scenic trip to the museum . It is barely nec­es­sary to enter the build­ings — the archi­tec­ture and gar­dens are out­stand­ing From bougainvil­lea to huge cac­tus, the gar­dens are a treat for any­one with green thumbs.

The food was also fan­tas­tic – we sat on a lawn over­look­ing the maze with gourmet sand­wiches and bot­tle of wine.
The exhi­bi­tions are not so bad either! Well worth the trip if you are in the area.
