I love shells and find myself unable to walk past a beach without searching for them. We now have quite a collection and I have wanted to make a shell mirror for a years. These crafty projects take time.…something I don’t seem to have much of!
Earlier this year, Mac can home with a cool fish eye mirror for me to create my first “piece of art”. I was a little daunted until the girls got involved. They were happy to glue away without being concerned about symmetry and the end result was fantastic.
We used a collection of shells that we had found in the last year. Oyster shells that I brought back from a trip to my home town in England, shells from our summer in Bay Head and a day trip for a shoot in The Hamptons. We used 527 multi use glue which seemed to work so much better — although a little smelly — than a hot glue gun.
The mirror now hangs in our living room and we are all pretty proud of it!
