The vegetation in Australia is beautiful and because of the unusually cool and wet Summer this year, it was very lush. We visited rain forests with huge ferns that looked almost prehistoric.
Driving through the Yarra Valley we saw the damage from the fires of three years ago. Vegetation is coming back, the charred trees have new branches shooting out and houses have been rebuilt.
My brother helped to rebuild fences after the fires and heard horrific stories but also heartwarming ones.
