The Herb Garden- Something For Everyone!

Herb Gardens-3

Whether you have oodles of sunlight or just a bit here and there or merely a windowsill over the sink, you can have an herb garden. With just a little bit of effort you can feel like Julia Child snipping bits of basil for a salad, thyme for a chicken or mint for a pitcher of mojitos. Above are some novel ideas for containers- everything from a few small terra cotta containers and plates stacked, to wooden baskets and boxes (the trick with those is to place the herbs in a plastic container with a plate to catch most of the water and avoid rotting the container) If you have just a small spot for your garden – try stacking the containers, largest to smallest, for a windowsill or table decor, try a wooden box! Herbs are available in most supermarkets as well as garden centers and will grow well into the fall giving you loads of fresh cooking options.
