This year Julie took our tent and mini exhibition to the Duck Derby at Bay Head. Mom’s and Grandmoms stopped by to take a look at the lovely album we had on display which included images taken from a local Mantaloking family’s beach shoot.

Proceeds from the Duck Derby support the Bay Head school. We donated a mini-shoot to the silent auction and gave away a Meet us at the Beach photo session to a lucky family. Congratulations to them and we look forward to taking their pictures in two weeks time.

Kids of all ages stopped by the neighbouring tent to watch Tillie the dog who paints! Tillie’s artmaking process is fascinating and accompanied by a lot of barking and tearing at the work with her teeth. She scratches into the surface making a mono print on paper saturated in ink under a tough plastic cover. Once the cover is removed at the end of her 5 minute process the artwork is revealed.
Kids were fascinated and adults impressed with the abstract beauty of Tillie’s works. She has a little book available online about her life and work. It makes a great gift for kids interested in art and Tillie and her humans would make a great addition to your school art’s and crafts fair. Contact Tillie’s humans through her website Tillie.org.
The red, white and blue painting ‘Dog Bless America’ is a tribute to the Stars and Stripes.
